In 1983 the car, with a Chevy V6 twin turbo and also a Chevy V8 engine, was driven by Gary Bettenhausen who failed to qualify for the Indy 500. The car was also driven in the 1983 Domino's 500 at Pocono, the 1983 Dana-Rex Mays 150 at Milwaukee. The car is still in the same livery as it was in 1983.
